Mauchline Tartanware covers with leather spine decorated in gilt. Prince "Charlie" tartan pattern on the covers, with an illustration of Edinburgh Castle in a center oval. 375 pp. Black and white illustrations by John Gilbert and Birket Foster throughout. 11 albumen photographs tipped in throughout. A decorative edition of this classic work by Sir Walter Scott, bearing a mauchline tartanware binding and albumen photos. GOOD condition. Minor scuffing and soiling to the covers. Heavy scuffing to the leather along the spine. Rear hinge split along its length, with a chip missing from the head of the spine.
