'Lalla Rookh' boosted Moore's already promising poetical reputation, ensuring his poetry rivalled that of Lord Byron and Walter Scott. Thomas Moore was an Irish poet, best known for his poems 'The Minstrel Boy' and 'The Last Rose of Summer' as well as for being the literary executor for Lord Byron, thus burning Byron's memoirs after his death. Some of his other works include 'The Gypsy Prince', 'The Fudge Family in Paris', and 'The Epicurean'. In a full calf binding. Externally smart, though lightly rubbed to the joints and extremities.
