Frontispiece with protective sleeve (b/w drawing of author on ski and fur coat with signature at bottom). First edition published in 1899. Front hinge weakened, some center plates are loose. Top spine lightly nibbled. Illustrations (24 plates of b/w drawings by M. J. Burns). Neat inscription on front end-page (John Holloway Fox, Jan. 1912 for Memorizing 'Rondius'!).
