In a full calf binding. Front board detached. Rear joint strained, with board loosely held. Significant losses to back strip, with leather detached. Partial remnants of metal clasps to fore edge of front board. Losses to board perimeters, with leather of front board in the process of detaching. Binding held by one cord only between leaves 2F6 and 2G, and between 2Y6 and 2Z. Binding detached between 3R6 and 3S, and detached between 3X6 and 3Y, and detached between 3Z6 and 4A. Twenty-five gatherings working loose. Pages age toned due to paper type, with scattered spotting and handling marks throughout. Inscriptions to a rear blank. Fair.
