Possibly not a first edition--there is a contemporary inscription on the FFEP, dated "Dec. 1916"; however, no books are listed at the rear that were published after 1911, so this could be a first that was on the bookstore shelf for a long while. Book has a noticeable lean, its 4 corners are very lightly bumped (both front corners have just a speck of cardboard showing)head and heel of spine are bumped without fabric damage, and spine, and to a lesser extent the front panel, show fading.
