Written by the original anonymous , these letters from the unknown Junius were written as critique of the government of George III. In good condition, these two little volumes have several portraits of the men the letters were addressed to as well as responses from some of them as they attempted to debate with the anonymous writer. Both leather bindings are in good condition with some cracks at the hinges. Minor soiling and writing inside. Bookplates from The North Devon Athenaeum Barnstable. Good Condition: 12mo; 2 Volumes: full leather with both books having cracked hinges: chips and loss of material on both (please see photos): plain spine with black labels having title and volume number in gilt: damage to head and tail of both spines; chipped and bent corners: pencil marks inside fronts including a visible erasure: portrait illustrations; publishers flourishes at ends of chapters: occasional foxing and shading from prints: The Letters of Junius.
