School prize in 1902 at Uppingham Lower School. Bookplate on marbled front endpapers. The navy covers feel like calf. Gilt borders on boards andspine title and gilt stamp of Uppingham school ont he front cover. The corners are worn - especially the lower front corner. Seven bands on the backstrip, and delicate gilt decoration which is rather rubbed. The page edges are also marbled. In tight condition, but some foxing, especially of the title page oppoiste the tissue protected frontispiece. The front hinge is just starting to crack and there is some white soiling onthe back cover adjacent to the backstrip - possible slight damp dammage in the past. 271pp. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
