Small 4to, xvi + pp312 complete with tipped in Woodburytype portrait of author, 7 full page woodcuts and 59 other woodcuts throughout text engraved by Edmund Evans after various artists. Hardcover issued without dust jacket. Publishers binding of half green leather over green cloth boards with five raised bands and titles and gilt motifs to spine, tooled gilt borders and gilt design to front board in very good condition.The spine is a little rubbed to top & tail and raised bands and a little rubbing to tips of boards. Inside a little a few small spots of foxing otherwise all pages with bright full edge gilt in excellent clean and bright condition. For added interest original advertisement for "the folk-lore of the northern counties 1879, by William Henderson" has been inserted. A very nice copy of this very scarce limited edition.
