Beschreibung
A lovely early edition of Frederic Farrar's history of St Paul with colour plates. In decorative red cloth binding. An early edition of this work by Frederic Farrar on the biography of St. Paul, first published in 1879.Frederic Farrar was a cleric of the Church of England, a teacher, and an author. Throughout his career he was the Archdeacon of Westminster and the Dean of Canterbury Cathedral.St. Paul, or Paul the Apostle, was a Christian apostle who spread the word of Jesus in the Ancient world. Paul was a Jew who, according to the New Testament, was baptised and proclaimed Jesus as the Jewish messiah and the Son of God. Almost half of the content in the book of Acts from the New Testament details Paul's life and work.Includes monochrome illustrations within the text to nearly every page and 5 maps on coloured plates. Collated, complete.Publisher's adverts to the rear endpapers. In cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The spine is slightly worn and discoloured. The back board has a few stains. The front hinge is starting but firm. There is spotting to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. There is more spotting to the endpapers and title page. Very Good. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 825W35
