The main source for the life of the chief engineer to the Dublin and Kingstown Railway, the first railway in Ireland. From 1816 he was engaged on a survey of South Carolina and adjacent states, in 1825 he worked for the Rennies in England and later carried out surveys on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, introduced the flat-footed rails, etc. Very good boards and spine. 407pp. Very heavy book - please enquire for postage.
