This is a scarce, original nautical broadside - "Lines Written on the Shipwreck of the Medora." The poem is written in 16 stanzas with a decorative border around the text. Circa 1840's (the sheet is undated); Kelley's Cheap Printing Office; New York. The Medora apparently sank in Lake Ontario. The sheet measures 9 1/4" tall x 7" wide. Condition: Light staining to both sides. "Edwin Stiles Westfield Mass" written in pen at the top edge. There is a 1" tear within the left-hand margin, and tiny tears along the center vertical crease line. The sheet has fold creases both vertically and horizontally through the center.
