Paul Rand and his wife, Ann, wrote this book for their daughter, Catherine, to explain the interplay of sound and color. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Ann Rand (1918-2012) trained as an architect under Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and is the author of several childrenÕs books, including What Can I Be?, Little 1, Sparkle and Spin, and I Know a Lot of Things.

Paul Rand (1914-1996) was one of the most influential American graphic designers of the twentieth century. In addition to teaching graphic design at Yale for nearly thirty years, he also designed the iconic logos for ABC, IBM, and UPS.
