A scarce collection of this early nineteenth century periodical edited and published by Charles Taylor. Published between 1806 and 1819, The Literary Panorama and National Registermerged into theNew Monthly Magazine in 1819. It comprised of writings including book reviews, geography pieces on all parts of the world, political writings, historical pieces and all manner of works besides.Edited by Charles Taylor, a man of letters and engraver. Taylor also translated Fenelon's 'Adventures of Telemachus' and produced engravings for 'Picturesque Miscellanies', 'The Landscape Magazine' and 'The Shakespeare Gallery'.In three volumes, comprising: volume the second, volume the fifth and volume the sixth of the new series, which ran to nine volumes between 1814 and 1819.Illustrated with a folding facsimile Ancient Greek letter and a frontispiece to volume the second.Scarcely found as a collection. In a contemporary half calf binding. Externally generally smart; leather is rather rubbed to the raised bands and extremities. Front joints have all failed, with the boards held by cords only to all volumes bar volume the fifth, which is loose. Rear joints are also rather worn but remain secure.
