Little Lord Fauntleroy. By Frances Hodgson Burnett and printed in New York City by Charles Scribner s Sons. 1887, 209 pp, 8.5 x 7 < 8vo, hardcover full cloth. In good condition, with minor rubbing and wear to boards and spine. Fading to lettering and decorations on spine. Minor hinge wear, primarily towards front of book. Light marginalia and markings, primarily at front. Assorted black-and-white illustrations throughout, along with an illustrated section of other books by the publisher. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce early printing by Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924). Considered one of her most important novels, it additionally received attention when Burnett successfully sued a playwright for making theatre versions, which set a precedent in copyright law.
