A very scarce edition of Crona Temple"s charming children"s tale "Little Miss Rosenburgh. A Story of Cornwall". Originally published in 1886 as "Diana Rosenburgh. A Story of Cornwall". Crona Lavina Corfield, known by her pen name of "Crona Temple" was born in England though raised in Templecrone, Ireland, for most of her childhood. It is assumed her pen name came from the town she grew up in. Temple devoted her life to writing and wrote 38 books, most of which were morality tales for children. Beautifully illustrated with a colour plate frontispiece and title page. 20 pages of publisher"s adverts to the rear. Ink inscription to recto of front endpaper, "Kathleen Sovell Second Prize", dated Dec xv: 1909. In the original publisher"s decorative cloth binding, with gilt title to the spine. Externally, smart. Very light marking to the boards and rubbing to the extremities. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Front hinge starting slightly but firm. Ink inscription on recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Endpapers slightly age-toned. Light spotting on some pages, otherwise pages are bright and clean. Very Good.
