The print on the spine has faded and its head chipped, the front hinge is partially cracked, though the binding remains solid and there's a phone number hand written on the head of page i. There are xvi pages of ads and 844 pages. The last page has a short, closed tear which has been repaired with acid free tape. A fascinating compendium of all things maritime, interspersed with eqaully fascinating period ads. Embossed in gilt on the front board: " With the compliments of Bevington Vaizey & Foster, Ltd. 31, Lombard Street, London, E.C. 3., and at Lloyd's.
