Full-color frontispiece is "Looking at Pictures" by David Hockney. Moderate soiling to wraps, particularly at spine. The front flap of the dust jacket is creased. There is one incident of underlined text, which encompasses four lines. After a decades long career at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and an appointment as Commissioner of Cultural Affairs for New York City, Henry Geldzahler was described as "the most powerful and controversial art curator alive." He was close friends with Andy Warhol and David Hockney, each of whom depicted him in portrait, as did Frank Stella, Alice Neel, and the sculptor George Segal.
