CHAPTER 1
PRINCIPLE 1
The Power of Chaos
Bust a Move!
Mankind has been created by a perfect systemand law that governs the universe. Cultureshave articulated the system as negative and positive, yin and yang, or even order and chaos. Whatever wehave chosen to name it, when we begin to work withthis perfect law, we will invite ultimate balance andbegin to fulfill the purpose of our existence.
Many people keep their lives cluttered with manythings to do to keep from facing the true reality. It's amazing how many of us are living our lives inresistance. We resist the wait in the grocery store whenthere's a long line. We resist the driver who signalsto enter our lane by speeding up to block the personinstead of politely letting him or her over.
This resistance, which has the power to destroy us,ultimately causes us to unconsciously rush through lifeas if there's something or someone after us. While allof us are running toward a greater day of perfection—whichis admirable thinking—we must not be in denialof what is going on around us or even in us.
The question that immediately comes to mind is,what are we all attempting to avoid? The answer: chaos. We have been conditioned, if not programmed, to thinkin terms of chaos when we see things in a disarrayaround us. Consequently, we typically consider oursituation to be chaotic, which causes us to begin seekingto avoid the chaos.
The truth is, if we were to allow ourselves to lookthrough a different lens, we would find that our "chaos"is the very force and power from where we came. Inthe beginning of the earth, according to the Bible, theseven creative spirits of God looked upon the earth, andthe description that we receive is that it was a dark void.Based on the description that is given to us in scripture, many of us will conclude that anything dark with noillumination is chaotic. Anything that is formless and hasno mass, space, or matter is chaotic. We automaticallysuggest to ourselves and then to others that anythingwe see that was or is disfigured is chaotic.
Chaos presents to us the possibility of potential if wementally handle it correctly. Furthermore, chaos neverpresents itself to a candidate who is unprepared. Theonly reason why chaos appears in our lives is becausethe universe knows that this is the time and the placein which we are able to handle this situation. Now wemay call it chaos, because it comes to us at a time inwhich we feel so comfortable and complacent. Chaoswill always enter our lives in the times when we arewilling to stay on one particular level of experience. Our lives are meant to constantly progress and growuntil we meet an ultimate level of consciousness, butwhen we become comfortable, this "chaos" arises.
Now this next question I'm about to ask will helpus analyze which side of the fence we are on whenit comes to thinking either negatively or positivelyabout unexpected life situations. When the unexpectedand undesirable happen in our lives, do we call thesesurprises chaotic, or do we perceive them as a door ofopportunity? Just answering this question will help usdetermine why our lives have been producing a certainkind of fruit. Whether we want to accept it or not, howwe think about a certain thing has a lot to do with whatwe experience from it.
In the beginning, God told Adam to name all ofthe animals, and in so doing, the name alone gavecharacter and responsibility. The same is true with ourlife situations. If we only think of them as negative, wegive them a negative assignment, but if we think of thempositively, we give them a positive name, characters, andresponsibilities. The power that chaos presents to us isthe power to make a decision on a day of unexpectedsituations. We have a choice as to whether we are goingto become a victim of a situation or allow our expertisein this area to come forth and shine like gold. Whenwe make decisions to let our greatness shine through,we embrace the power that will ultimately lead us into aplace of recognition. This power enables us to celebrateand accept our present talents, abilities, and strengths, which we can use as a balance of harmony to introduceto a disharmonious situation.
This power causes us to recognize what is neededand also causes us to recognize that we have the abilityto get the job done. We recognize in this time that thesituation wasn't presented so that we would be a peopleto stand by and watch but so that we could becomepeople of focus. Focused people use the power that theyhave within to bring resolve and peace to different areasin their lives. It's amazing because when we fix ourminds to see chaos through a positive mind-set, we canunderstand that the growth that we have experiencedis meant to be expressed in times of chaos. We alsounderstand that chaos in the negative sense or evenpleasure in a positive sense is in fact a product of ourown mind.
We understand that the only way in which we'regoing to get out of this situation is to detach ourselvesfrom the emotional standpoint that we could entertainconcerning the situation and tune into the helpfulnessand productivity that we should be attributing to thesituation. When we do this, we will find ourselvesbecoming courageous and powerful. We will be makingmoves in our lives that other people have been afraid tomake, which will cause people to recognize us as peopleof strength, strategy, power, poise, and courage. Wewill be what people consider to be the game changers, people that see a problem and became the solutionsimply by "busting a move."
Now the question may be at this point, what do Ido? Well the question that I propose to you is, what ishappening and where is it happening in your life? Thisplays a big part. It will help us all find what actions weneed to take. The truth is that it doesn't help us to acceptthe chaos in our lives if we aren't going to make a moveto better our lives. That would be like recognizing a stopsign and continuing to drive; it's reckless, dangerous, and thoughtless. What would be the greatest thing todo to experience growth, happiness, and even stillnesswithin our lives? It would be to recognize the chaos, accept that it is there, and find what we can do tochange this from being disastrous to being beneficial.Chaos introduces us to change, which can be difficultfor many.
Change is good once we've been able to experienceit. If we had to go by the examples of some of the peoplewho have influence in our...
