112 laws and declarations bound in 8 volumes. Covering from the end of February 1791 to September 1791. Issued for the Departement De Seine et Marne. Original string binding. Bindings good. A few pages have old stains to margins, a few signatures to final pages of edicts. Worming to 4 volumes affecting text, significant in two volumes. An array of laws issued restructuring the French state and government. Of the 112 laws bound in, seven are of significant note. 1.: A decree issued on June, 21, 1791 in response to the Royal family's flight to Varennes the night prior, stating that all public officials and soldiers to prevent any and all persons leaving the country, including guns, ammunition, gold, etc.2. La societe des amis de la constitution, which within a year would become the Jacobin Club. This society objective was to work for the consolidation of the Constitution and this proclamation deals with praising the Assembly's ability to accrue public funds and the framework tax collecting in the new Constitution. 3. The Allarde Decree dated 2nd of March, 1791, which abolished guilds and corporations. This law, along with the tax issued on the 17th, proclaimed the principle of freedom of trade and industry, which has become one of the general principles of French law. It was followed 3 months later with the Loi Le Chapelier. 4. The De la contribution mobiliere, from February 18th 1791, is the personal property tax on housing. 5. Various laws bound in deal with the reorganization of military ranks and the advancement of the Artillery Corps, reforms relating to the 1791 Reglement. 6. The formation of the L'administration du Tresor public, or the national administration of the Treasury. It was created to assist the Assembly and delegate funds for the State, as the country was near bankruptcy in 1790 and 1791. 7. The Law of 16th September 1791. This judicial law introduced the jury in the criminal court with the adoption of the system of judges ruling according to their inner certainty or in-time conviction.
