Theater playbill for the dramas "A Sudden Attack" and "The Duke's Motto" at London's Lyceum Theatre dated to January 10th, 1863. Printed by "Nassau Steam Press, W.S. Johnson & Co., 60 St. Martin's Lane, W.C." Measures 19 ¾" x 19 ¾" and is in good condition. Playbill is fragile and has light chipping to edge and has a 5" tear along the middle fold; lettering is still bold. The first few lines of the broadside read: "Lyceum Royal Theatre. Open Under the Sole Management of Mr. Fechter. Saturday, Jan. 10th, 1863, Monday, Jan. 12th, and during the week, the performance will commence with a new dramatic sketch, in one act, entitled A Sudden Attack…After which, at a quarter to eight, a new romantic drama, in three acts, and a prologue, entitled The Duke's Motto!
