Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Sue Lyon and Hampton Fancher – Original Wedding Wire Photograph – Lolita / Blade Runner Association – 1963. Original black-and-white wire press photograph of Sue Lyon and Hampton Fancher III, 25.8 × 21.8 cm, showing the newly married couple together immediately following their wedding in Los Angeles in 1963. The surviving contemporary press caption identifies “Actress Sue Lyon, who is 17” with her husband “Hampton Fancher III, aged 25”, and explicitly notes that Lyon was “best-known for her role as the star of the film Lolita”; it additionally records that she had recently completed another film in Mexico. A newspaper archive date at the lower edge appears to read 23 December 1963, and the reverse also retains a faint Shields Gazette Library stamp and extensive contemporary newsroom crop and sizing annotations. Lyon had achieved international fame through her performance as Dolores Haze in Stanley Kubrick’s 1962 adaptation of Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita, while Fancher would subsequently acquire an entirely different significance as the screenwriter who developed Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? into the screenplay for Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner; the New Yorker records both his screenwriting career and his brief marriage to Lyon. Good condition overall with age toning, surface and handling wear, extensive original newsroom crop markings and black masking/border work surrounding the image; verso with attached caption, archive wear and annotations. An unusual original photograph combining strong Lolita, Kubrick and Nabokov interest with an unexpected later Blade Runner and Philip K. Dick connection.…
