Attractive First Edition (no date but 1927) hardback intended for young people. Jackson was a prolific author / editor of books for young people. Larger, clear print on thick white paper and extensively illustrated in colour (paintings) and B&W. Red designs on end-papers with tiny bookseller's label (Carlisle) to front. Chapters include: Round a Motor Works, The Coming of the Motor Ship and Types of Cars and what they do. 96 page 4to, in very good condition internally with one illustration delicately coloured in with what looks like coloured pencils. Binding is firm and square, cover is darkened in places with a few small marks but still very good for this type of 95 year-old illustrated cover. 20% price reduction now applied.
