It is also an early guide to Japan & her byways. * The author covered his ascent of Karuisawa & famous volcanos in the region, including Japan's Matterhorn, Komagatake and the magnificient panoramas of Saddle Peak, Umbrella Peak, Akaiishi San, mountain railway Zenkoji, Harinoki Pass, Ryu- zanjita hot springs, Toyama's wild ravines and primitive bridges. Continuing up Nakasendoh, the Alps from end to end, earthquakes, Naoetsu landslip and the lovable: "English as she is Japped." * With a final chapter on Korean Exorcism. * CONDITION: This book was bound in very thin blue pictorial cloth, so it has a tendency to show spine head/tail and corner wear, and is easily faded. Most copies are in this normal antiquarian state.
