Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Lon Kurashige, assistant professor of History at the University of Southern California, received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994. His areas of expertise include Asian American history and US immigration. He has written many scholarly articles as well as a book entitled The Contested Kimono, which will be published as part of the "American Crossroads" series by the University of California Press. He is also currently at work on a project that examines the relationship of class, gender, and the unconscious in the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
