This beautifully inscribed and signed very first illustrated edition is illustrated by the famed British Artist Raymond Sheppard (1913-1958) featuring his wonderful drawings/ Sketches throughout, and featuring all 9 hair raising & thrilling chapters from his first man eater -the Champawat man eater in 1907 to the last The Thak Man eater he shot in 1938, thus ending a 32 years of hunting the man eaters. He was 63 when he went after his last man eater after years of exposure to severe weather, Malaria, jungle fever.and miles and miles of wandering in the Himalayan jungles by foot. The book is warmly inscribed to General and Mrs. Curtis thus: To remind you in the years to come, of the pleasure you gave us in visiting our cottage Signed Jim Corbett Nyeri 29/8/1953 This 70 year old book comes with the original unclipped dust jacket protected in clear mylar. A scarce and long out of print collectors item with a lengthy & warm inscription and signature by the famed author Jim Corbett (1875-1955). P.S. Comparing to modern authors, Corbett never went to any book store to sign his books.
