Artikelbeschreibung vom Verkäufer

Language: English. This book captures the thoughts of the Author who worked for more than four decades at the grassroots in India and other countries, observing and watching how Human Development Programmes touch the lives of those who receive the services like primary health care, water and sanitation, school education and reflecting on the managerial dimensions of these programmes. Human Development Programmes are more difficult to manage at the cutting edge. They are easy to design at the level of the State ands the Funding Agencies but when they reach the people who receive them for their well being they either get distorted or reach them at the wrong time and place. The Managers of the Human Development Programmes can be great innovators if they want and can legitimately participate in the joys and sorrows of those who receive them. The book captures the ideas of the policy makers, technologist, and those who manage them for the benefit of the people like mothers, children, farmers, the marginalized groups. About The Author: Dr. Manu N. Kulkarni studied in Karnataka University, Dharwar, Bombay University, Mumbai and Specialised in Public Health in Johns Hopkins Schools of Public Health, Baltimore where he was deputed by UNICEF which he served for nearly 20 years. He has been a regular contributor of Economic and Political Weekly, Mumbai and other development journals and in this book he captures his thoughts from the dust as a development field worker managing numerous human development programmes across the country. Presently he is Professor Emeritus in the Post Graduate Department of Management Studies in Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur (India). He is also a Honorary Senior Fellow of the Institute of Social Sciences New Delhi where he Anchored a programme called India Leaders for Tomorrow sponsored by Sir Ratan Tatat Trust.
