Small 4to (10.125" x 6.875"), beige cloth with marbled paper boards, brown leather lettering-piece at spine stamped in gold. 150, [1] pp. 5 original etchings, 6 gravures, numerous additional illus., facsimile letter. An important early study of Manet, illustrated with two original Manet etchings, "L'Odalisque Couchee" and "La Convelescente," as well as three etchings by M. H. Guérard after Manet, and six gravures. Both Manet etchings are nice, strong impressions. Inscribed to etcher and poster artist Ernest Haskell on the ffep as follows: "To Ernest Haskell from Mrs Evan Shipman."
