map area ca. 16.1"x 20.1" on paper sheet ca. 18" x 21.5" , paper age toned - more so around the edges, some small chips missing from edges- the paper is becoming a bit brittle around the edges, colors in outline- included are proposed rail lines. Clearly a double page map removed from an atlas - probably, A New General Atlas with printed page numbers 27 at right side of page and with Roman numeral xxvii near another corner. There is pencil information and date 1840 written on back. Overall a good copy. There is no date printed on the map, ca. 1830 - 1840 seems reasonable and this is an estimate. Sidney Hall died in 1831, but versions of his maps were published later. Due to size, this may be rolled and shipped in a tube - especially for international shipping.
