Map of North America from 1845 (8" x 9.5"). Tanned paper with some chips and loss along edges, not impacting the map or any text. A two-inch tear at bottom extending upwards. Trim along top slightly slanted to the right. Published in 1845 for "Ewing's New General Atlas," this map of North America spans from the North Georgian Islands in the Arctic Ocean and Canada, to the northern part of South America, and covers south Greenland, Iceland (unnamed), Mexico, and today's Central America, as well as today's Alaska and the eastern tip of Russia. Some chipping and small tears, with some loss on bottom and bottom right corner (no loss to map or text). Map by Thomas Ewing, engraved by J. & O.
