The sailors featured are Jean De Vienne, Duquesne, Tourville, Jean Bart, Rene Duguay-Trouin, Suffren, Bougainville, D'Estaing, Ducouedic De Kergoualer and De Laperouse. There is an appendix at the back, dates of discoveries are given and also dates of circumnavigations of the globe. There are two engraved portraits within, one of Dugay Trouin and another of Jean Bart. Condition: Very Good: The boards and corners are a little rubbed; the top of the spine in particular. The binding is tight. The pages are a little marked, browned and foxed, particularly at the edges; also spotted with ink on one page. One tissue guard and the corners of a few pages are creased.
