Helen Doe is an honorary fellow of the Centre for Maritime Studies at the University of Exeter and has published articles and books on both Cornish and wider English maritime history. Alston Kennerley is an honorary fellow of the University of Plymouth, where he taught navigation and maritime history. He is also an honorary fellow at the University of Exeter. Philip Payton is professor of Cornish and Australian studies and director of the Institute of Cornish Studies at the University of Exeter.
