Nothing has been the same in the Kingdom of Trilithia since the Royal Family fell from a plague 17 years ago. A mage named Aeron seized his opportunity to take over the kingdom. In Cass's village of Everloom though, things were even better than fine. She had her Ma, her two little brothers, her best friend, and her mentor. But one day, the Shadow Guard show up at her village and her world comes crashing down. Will she be able to overthrow Aeron and take back the Kingdom for its people?

They took my family.

They took my home.

And now, they'll pay.

Joining the rebellion was supposed to help me find my brothers, not put me in the sights of the young, rugged Commander, Falcon Feldstrom.

He thinks I'm a spoiled brat trying to find glory within the ranks of Luminous Storm, but I'll show him just how serious I am. My best friend, Liam, and I have stuck together through thick and thin, and between the two of us, we should be able to get through anything.

But something has changed with him recently, and he's less like the Liam I used to know.

No matter. I'll rescue my brothers whether they help me or not.

Even if I have to risk everything to do so.
