This format #3 VG- book, using Harper's lettering system on the copyright page, was printed in April, 1934; it is in very nice condition; it is square and clean. The exterior has very slightly bumped head and heel of the spine and the lower front corner, but no fabric damage; there are no edge dings. The spine is lightly sunned. The interior has a 1942 inked inscription on the FFEP; other than that, the interior is free of writing, stray marks, stains and page damage. The hinges are strong and undamaged and the paper is very very lightly toned and flexible. The VG- jacket, which lists all 9 books in the series, has a water stain along the front fold (there is no corresponding water damage to the book), chips at the head of the spine and chips at the heel of the spine with a fold that affects the front panel (see photo).
