Publishing Matters Of The Heart forms part of a journey of self discovery. It started over ten years ago at the Theosophical Society while studying H. P. Blavatsky's Secret Doctrine. At this time I was also introduced to the works of Julian of Norwich. As an anchorite of the middle ages, Julian’s Revelations Of Divine Love opened a door into Christian Mysticism, to which I was truly amazed. It was also at this time that I was introduced to the Lost Gospel of Thomas. This gospel which was found in 1945, near the desert village of Nag Hammadi in upper Egypt, is a very early text of the sayings of Jesus Christ: originally an oral teaching. This discovered gospel expresses a simple truth which we can all learn from. Studying this body of work, taking each logion into the meditative state, I entered upon a journey of discovery, and what a gift it has been. This humble book, Matters Of The Heart, contains forty three poems and sketches, in which I have tried to express something of the power and wonder of the spiritual truths present in Thomas's gospel.
