Sue Kirkman, MD, Editor, is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of North Carolina, where she has been an active clinician, clinical researcher, and medical educator. Dr. Kirkman has been a member of many guideline writing committees, including the 2021 ADA-EASD report on Type 1 Diabetes in Adults, and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters. In 2020, the American Diabetes Association awarded Dr. Kirkman its Outstanding Physician Clinician award.
