Beschreibung

[4],277,[7]p. ; 12?., bound in full contemporary calf with pleasing gilt devices to covers and spine. Sometimes attributed to James Annesley who is the subject of this fascinating work which contains many awful insights to the practice of slavery in Delaware. Estc is unclear about priority of the various edition of this work which attained great popularity. In this edition the second line of the imprint ends "and sold"; the catchword on p.1 is "words"; and the vignette on p.1 is a cherub. It is ESTC T81624. There were two sequels to this work. The last seven pages are ads, the half title is present. A very nice copy of a scarce work that is based on the life of James Annesley, notably on his claim to the Barony of Altham and Earldom of Anglesey. Buchnummer des Verkäufers 029272
