Volume one is illustrated with frontispiece and four folding plates of battle plans. Volume two is illustrated with three folding plates of battle plans. Collated complete. A detailed history of important English battles, from the Battle of Hastings, and the Great Battles of the Civil War, to the Battle of Waterloo, and the Siege of Delhi. Written by William Henry Davenport Adams, an English writer, journalist, and historian. With publisher's advertisements to the rear of volume two. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Light fraying to the head and tail of the spine. Joints tender but firm.
