Original poster. Color lithograph. 41 x 28 inches. This classic World War I U.S. Army recruiting poster features an officer of the Army standing next to a soldier. Behind them an artillery battery is manned by two men. In the background two men are standing on the fort looking through binoculars across the coast. The bottom of the poster includes a cartouche where the name of the recruiting station can be filled in. Form no. 402, A.G.O. The artist for this poster is Michael P. Whelan. The poster is in good condition with minor edge wear and some spotting. Some creasing and foxing at places. Rip near top right margin, not extending over printed image. Minor staining near center.
