pp. 224. 8vo. Illustrated bronze card covers held with metal spiral binding. Replete with black and white and colour photographs and illustrations. Lightest rubbing to the extremities. Internally, the contents and tabs remain equally clean and unmarked with tight, sound binding. Indeed, the title appears quite well-preserved; very good+. This cookbook is the result of numerous inquiries at the Canadian Mennonite Conference last year, regarding recipes for feeding large groups of people as a conference calls for. Since the delightful Mennonite custom of gathering in large numbers and dining together, when possible, is gaining popularity as means of travelling increases, it was decided to publish a sheet giving the most popular recipes used in mass cooking. One thing led to another, and by the time the book was in the drawing board stage, it was decided to also add a chapter of Mennonite recipes. Many of these hail back from the days of want and austerity, and are no longer in use, but may be of interest for coming generations to read, or in inspiration to a cook who is in an adventurous mood. From there it was natural to also add the favorite recipes of the present generation. The Committee in charge wishes to thank the ladies of Niverville, Arnaud, Ste. Elizabeth and Grunthal for their help in making this book possible, and also the ladies from all across Canada who contributed their favorite recipes. It must also be added that all recipes are kitchen tested for your convenience and cooking pleasure. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 5890
