This business course in Italian sets out to be adaptable to a wide variety of vocationally orientated teaching programmes. Working from a basic knowledge of Italian, it aims to be of use to students preparing for BTEC National and Higher National Diplomas, RSA and LCCI vocational examinations. It also attempts to provide for the needs of business people who wish to improve their Italian communication skills in a business context. The course deals primarily with establishing and maintaining import/export contacts and follows the progress of a British businessman from his initial contacts with the Italian market to the successful conclusion of a contract in Milan. The course focuses on the acquisition of oral/aural skills, with practice provided in the book and listening material included on the cassette. A section of the book also deals with the writing skills necessary for maintaining business contacts.
