Chapter One
There once was a little girl named Mitzy, who was the apple of her mother's eye, the cream of the crop, the icing on the cake, the bubbles in the bathtub. Only problem is that she never felt important or special, she just felt like an ordinary girl, but God had a bigger plan for her.You see, Mitzy didn't know that she was about to discover a secret, a very BIG secret. In fact, it is the biggest, sweetest, most life-giving secret ever kept. It is a secret involving a family gift box that had been around the house for years. Mitzy knew that this gift box must have been really special because it was wrapped so beautifully in purple satin paper with a big red bow.
Her mother had always kept it in a very safe place and Mitzy had walked past it many times, wondering about it, but today her curiosity got the best of her and she picked it up.
As Mitzy sat with the box on her lap, ready to open it, she began thinking over the past few years of her life and how hard it had been. It had not been easy. In fact, it had been full of sadness, fear, disappointment, and illness. She had spent many nights in the hospital with doctors that were unable to explain her sickness. Mitzy's dad left when she was very small, leaving her mother all alone to deal with her illness. Mitzy's mom had to work all the time just to pay her doctor bills, and that left the little girl to spend a lot of time alone.
The sickness, at times, caused a rash to appear all over Mitzy's body, making it extremely hard for her to make and keep friends. Sometimes the kids at school were so mean to her that she did not even want to be there. Not only had she suffered sickness and lost friends, but she had also missed holidays, field trips, birthday parties, and family celebrations. Many times she felt so horrible that she never even got out of bed.
Life had been hard, that was true, but through all the sickness and sadness Mitzy and her mommy had tried to turn to their faith in God. Sometimes the little girl would cry herself to sleep, praying to God for some kind of healing. During one of her hospital stays, God gave her a little friend named Faith, Child-like Faith. Now Child-like Faith could not be seen by anyone else other than Mitzy. Even though she tried to tell the nurses and doctors about her little friend, they would just smile and pat her on the arm and say, "That's nice honey." They never really paid all that much attention to the sickly little girl, let alone any kind of imaginary friend. They just went on about their business kind of ignoring her.
To Mitzy, Child-like Faith was, at times, the only friend she had. She could not understand why no one else could see her. All she knew was that Child-like Faith was always with her and never left her, even when everyone else went home. Mitzy knew that Child-like Faith was a gift to her from God.
Whenever times got really bad and she was just about to give up, Child-like Faith would tell her stories or try to make her laugh. Some of the stories were of how Mitzy's mother had had times in her life as a little girl where she was scared or sad. Child-like Faith would make her mommy laugh and giggle and things would always get better. Child-Like Faith even told her once that her mom was scared now, and that her mom did not want Child-Like Faith there with her. This made Mitzy sad. Why would her mom not want Child- Like Faith around? She knew that her mom was giving up. The bad times they had shared inside the hospital rooms had not made it easy for her mommy to trust God. She so wanted her mom to believe, and be happy. In fact, she wanted that even more than she wanted to get better. Little did they both know that as Mitzy sat on the couch holding the gift box, that their lives were about to change forever.
Mitzy could not hold back another second. She ripped off that pretty, purple, satiny paper and big red bow. Before long she was ready to take off the lid. The excitement was growing. Mitzy knew there was something inside that box. With a great big grin on her face, and a twinkle in her eye, the lid came off! To her surprise, hundreds of tiny little angels escaped into the room.
Each one was dressed in pastel colors with matching little shoes, their laughter, radiating from their tiny little bodies. Some had unique little objects in their hands that looked like brooms, and mops. As she went in for a closer look she noticed that they were riding in the beams of light.
What do you think the nano angels look like? You can draw them here.
The beams of light and the floating dust took the little angel creatures right up to the top of her head.
Once they landed, a strange thing began happening. They started jumping, singing, dancing, and prancing. Some of them picked up strands of Mitzy's blonde hair and began twirling around in circles until her hair was twisted into a braid. Some of these little angels flew right up to her nose and eyebrows. They started tickling her and swinging on her eyelashes.
Before long she was giggling. The more she giggled, the more they tickled. Mitzy was having so much fun with these playful, little creatures, that she forgot all about her lousy rash and how sick she had been.
When she could finally get control of herself, she decided to ask some questions. "Excuse me, Faith," said Mitzy, "You have been with me for awhile, but now it seems that there are hundreds of you. What are you and where did you all come from?"
Just then Child-Like Faith hopped up on Mitzy's nose and started telling her the story. "We are 'Nano Angels' sent here by God. We have been waiting a very long time for this moment; we ride in dust and in beams of light."
The little girl was a bit confused, as you can imagine. She just smiled at Child-like Faith and said, "I am not sure I understand. Can you tell me more?"
Child-like Faith started to explain to her that the nano angels had been sent to earth a long time ago as a gift from God but no one had ever seen them or knew they were there until today. Mitzy was shocked to hear this and knew that she had unlocked a BIG secret. These little nano angels could help a lot of people.
"Well, now that you are here with all of your friends, what would be your very favorite thing to do?" Mitzy asked. Child-like Faith looked at all of her other little friends and said "Let's show her what we like to do." Just then they all began to giggle, wiggle and tickle her even more. They were laughing and singing. "Mitzy, we love to make people laugh, giggle and wiggle. We bring joy to others," said Faith. Just then some of the little angel creatures began swarming all around her ... diving into her hair and lashes, swooping off the tip of her nose and ears, and tickling her arm pits and feet. Before long, Mitzy was laughing and wiggling right along with them, making all kinds of funny noises.
