A Just and Modest Vindication of the Proceedings of the Two last Parliaments No binding. No title page. No date. 48 pages. Title uncertain the title give above is the one that appears at the top of the first page. This full title is likely: The Design of Enslaving England Discovered: A Just and Modest Vindication of the Proceedings of the Two last Parliaments Probably by William Jones or John Somers or Robert Ferguson. Pagination starts with 1 on the first page and runs through 48, which ends Finis. Without a title page, it is not clear whether this is the 1681 edition, which was published when Charles II dissolved the Parliament, or a later reprint. According to records of both editions in institutional libraries, the 1689 edition was published as a standalone, with 48 pages. Unfortunately, there are other editions with the same number of pages. A pamphlet written in reaction to the dissolution of Parliament by Charles II. Touches on foreign wars and alliances, the perceived Catholic leanings of the King, and the role of parliament in governing the land. Margins trimmed close at the top, but never affecting the pagination. Please email for photos. I'd also be grateful for help identifying the edition. The only clue I have is the A2 code on page 3 is located beneath the work "Fear" not beneath the word "and" but I'm not sure what that indicates. Buchnummer des Verkäufers Fred-W854
