"Set issued by Peter Russell with the goal of making accessible to the English reader an introduction to the economic and political thought of Ezra Pound. This document provides a summary of the economic history of the United States from the late 18th century through the early 19th century. It discusses how the early colonists used paper money as a means of exchange to free themselves from the Bank of England. It describes how Pennsylvania in particular issued paper money that could be loaned and repaid over 10-12 years, based on the value of farms. This irritated London monopolists and contributed to the American Revolution. After independence, leaders like John Adams understood the need to finance the new country through loans and production of goods, not through "a false finance." He convinced other countries like Holland of America's creditworthiness and productive capacity in agriculture and industry". Books are shipped quickly and securely packed in a box.
