Titel: NATIONAL PARK SEMINARY - A JUNIOR COLLEGE (...
Verlag: Thomsen-Ellis Company, Forest Glen, Maryland
Einband: Hard Cover
Zustand des Schutzumschlags: No Jacket
Auflage: First Edition.
(For the year 1925-1926.) Rest of title: "Washington, D. C. Suburbs." Dark blue ribbed cloth with green and gilt decoration. Gilt top edge. 140 pages with index. Many b/w plates. Decorated pages. Some of the more interesting courses offered: Housewifery; Spring Gardening; Advanced Dressmaking; Home Nursing. (But they did also have secretarial courses.) Tipped in picture of Carl Herman Braatz, The "Children's Santa Claus," and a colored fold-out birds-eye view of Washington and a fold-out map of the Washington area (showing "good roads," "common roads" and "railroads"), a tipped-in reproduction of a pretty watercolor. Quite a lot of interest here, even if one isn't particularly interested in the school itself. Free endpapers are tanned, rear hinge starting, pages excellent. Binding is edge worn and scuffed, with some small spots, and insect damage to the edges of the covers and the spine, which has a small round hole in the cloth from insect depredation.
