approx. 240 p. 24 steel engravings with tissue. 5 1/2 x 8 3/4 in. Tan half leather binding with marbled boards, gilt lettering on spine, edges of text block lightly flecked with brown. Condition of the book is VERY GOOD: light wear and soiling to covers, top spine end worn, corners lightly worn, edges of text block darkened, pages white, engravings very clean, binding tight. NOTE: this odd volume does not have a title page or publisher's name, etc. It is probably part of William Jerdan's National Portraits, it is stated as National Portraits on spine an top edges of left hand pages, it consists of 24 beautiful steel engravings of British personalities extant around c. 1830 each with about 10 pages of text, no dates in the text go beyond 1830.
