Not dated. Circa 1867. Inscription is dated 84. (1884) Copac/ Jisc suggest the date as 1867. 8vo. Bound in original pictorial yellow wrappers with adverts for books illustrated by Charles Bennett printed on verso. The advert includes his last work, Lightsome and the Little Golden Lady which was published in 1867. Collation: frontispiece facing title page plus 21 leaves, plus hand coloured tailpiece. Printed on one side only, all coloured by hand as issued. The front and back cover has been professionally reattached at spine, corners rubbed small and large pieces missing. Inside there is heavy foxig on endpapers and occasional light foxing throughout, an old repair to a tear on one of the pages, see illustration, tear in right hand corner, however most of the pages are very good and clean. First published in 1860, this a cheaper paperback edition published a few years later. Rare due to being a paperback version and only one copy listed on Jisc. Size 19 x 14.5cm (7.5 x 5.5 inches).
