Leather corners are rubbed and bumped, leather spine covering is perishing and missing most of the top 3 inches. Interior is clean and unmarked, book plate of Toronto collector, webbing visible at title gutter. Some of the folding maps and the plates are of different paper stock and have browned more than others. The first colour map has a small lack at the top gutter. Very nice illustrated throughout. The maps give information on what kind of timber is growing in various areas, types of minerals to be found, geologic information, etc. Fascinating. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 201 pages. "In 1857 and 1858, Hind was engaged as geologist and, later, commander of the surveying expeditions which explored the country between Lake Superior and the Red River, and between the Red River and the south branch of the Saskatchewan River.
