double elephant folio, oblong, ca. 27.5" x 36" pp. - 63 maps each ca. 24" x 28" , but size varies from plate to plate. X- Library set bound in heavy duty blue cloth covered boards. No significant library markings inside- there is a label on the backstrip. The maps give dates of printing from ca. 1972 to 1985. The binding is in very good condition . Very interesting and scarce collection of maps of India. All sorts of subjects covered- wood, minerals, population, land types, some cultural, etc. It seems likely that this collection of maps was assembled by a research library and bound this way- with, presumably at least 3 other volumes. The sheets each have a Plate Number- the follwing plate numbers are present in this book- 52, 55, 66, 72, 88, 95, 107, 108, 115, 123 and 124 on one sheet, 126, 127, 130, 140, 147 (has a closed cut), 15, 152, 157, 159, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 168, 172, 174, 178, 186, 199, 200, 201, 202, 203, 211, 212, 214, 217, 221, 222, 223, 224, 237, 255, 256, 258, 259, 262, 263, 264, 267, 277, 288, 289, 290, 297, 298, 299, 300. The maps are nearly all in very good or better condition. A couple show the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal, but without much information about them. Note: due to size and weight shipping outside the USA or priority shipping will be more expensive than an average book. Note: for shipping outdie the USA it may be possible to remove the maps from the binding to allow for shipping rolled into a tube.
