NEW ORDER OF THE AGES a novel by C. Marcus Parr In this the second of The Eye of Providence series, Ruben Smith again finds himself overseas, but this time without the material support of Central Intelligence. He's in the hunt for his archenemy, Lyden Hatcher, the architect of a political coup that nearly ended American democracy. In the chase, Smith travels from London to Paris, from Zurich and the Bavarian Alps to the Bahamas, and back again. Over the course, he learns that he isn't so much the predator as he is the prey in this game. From MI6 to Le Marais in Paris, Smith asks himself if he is being played. Along the way he partners with a seductive Russian spy who has so far resisted Moscow's orders to assassinate the Special Operations Officer for past offenses. A mutual attraction has upended the orders to kill and love has bloomed. Now all Smith wants is to return to America with his enemy in chains and to prosecute him in the trial of the millennia. It is the only way democracy can be saved.
