The original work of the present book contains two new research projects:In the first part: Sodium 1-aryl-3-(3-(ethoxycarbonyl)-5-methyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-3-oxoprop-1-en-1-olate was used as precursor for preparation of some novel derivatives of various fused heterocyclic ring systems namely azolotriazine, azinotriazine and azolopyridazine. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of the new products were also evaluated.In the second part: New series of novel functionalized thiazoles, 1,3,4-thiadiazoles, pyrido[2,3-d][1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyrimidines and 1,3-thiazines containing pyrazole moiety were synthesized using 4-acetylpyrazole as a precursor. The mechanisms of the reactions studied were also discussed. The mechanisms of the studied reactions were also discussed. Sixteen compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial activity. The results proclaimed that some of the tested compounds exhibited moderate to significant antibacterial and antifungal activities. Also, the anticancer activity of some other compounds has been evaluated.

Gomha has been published 167 scientific papers in the fields of synthetic organic chemistry, chemistry of hydrazonoyl halides, the chemistry of enaminones, green chemistry and bioactive heterocyclic chemistry (There are about 2500 citations of his work until March 2020 (h-index 28). He supervised 20 M.Sc. and Ph.D. graduate theses.
